Artist Spotlight: Inbal Segev
Inbal will be joining the Mobile Symphony for the 16/17 season finale, performing Dvorak’s inspiring cello concerto. One of the most challenging pieces in the cello repertoire, the concerto features riveting and heart melting melodies (which Dvorak is known for) while seamlessly weaving in virtuosic passages requiring great feats of dexterity and grace. Below you will find a clip of her performing the Allemande from Bach’s 6th Cello Suite.
Cellist Inbal Segev’s playing has been described as “characterized by a strong and warm tone . . . delivered with impressive fluency and style,” by The Strad and “first class,” “richly inspired,” and “very moving indeed,” by Gramophone. Equally committed to new repertoire and masterworks, Segev brings interpretations that are both unreservedly natural and insightful to the vast range of music she performs.
