Summer Strings for Young String Players in Mobile and Daphne

Keep playing your instrument during June and July and learn new skills under the expert guidance of a professional string teacher artist. Make new friends, discover the secrets of your instrument, learn new music, and just have fun playing in an orchestra!

Who: Violin, viola, cello or string bass players with at least one year of experience
When: Tuesdays, June 2, 16, 30; July 14 & 28 at 2:00 PM and 3:30 PM (Mobile)
Thursdays, June 4 & 18; July 2, 16, 30 at 4:15 PM (Daphne)
Where: Larkins Center, 257 Dauphin St. Mobile, AL 36602 (Mobile)
Daphne Public Library, Community Room (Daphne)

Teacher Artists: Daniela Pardo and José Sunderland

Fee: $90 (Five 75-minute sessions sessions) Music will be provided in advance

Minimum enrollment: 6 students per class

Andante Group: Entering 4-6 grades (1-2 years of experience) 2:00 to 3:15 PM

• At least 1 year of playing experience on their instrument
• Violin: G, D or A one-octave major scales, Suzuki Book 1 or equivalent
• Viola: C, G or D one-octave major scales, Suzuki Book 1 or equivalent
• Cello: C, G or D one-octave major scales, Suzuki Book 1 or equivalent
• Bass: G or F one-octave major scales, Suzuki Book 1 or equivalent

Private lessons are strongly recommended

Allegro Group: entering 6-8 grades (2-3+ years of experience) 3:30 to 4:45 PM
• At least 2 years of playing experience on their instrument
• Violin: G, A, or B-flat two-octave major scales, Suzuki Book 2-3 or equivalent
• Viola: C, D or E-flat two-octave major scales, Suzuki Book 2-3 or equivalent
• Cello: C or D two-octave major scales, Suzuki Book 1-2 or equivalent
• Bass: G or F two-octave major scales, Suzuki Book 1-2 or equivalent

Private lessons are strongly recommended
