Time for Three

Time for Three (Tf3) is a classically-trained string trio that explores a variety of musical genres. The members of the group are violinist Nicolas (Nick) Kendall, violinist Charles Yang, and double-bassist Ranaan Meyer.

This group defies any traditional genre classification, happily and infectiously. With an uncommon mix of virtuosity and showmanship, the American trio performs music from Bach to Brahms and beyond, giving world-premieres by Pulitzer Prize-winners William Bolcom and Jennifer Higdon as well as playing originals and their own arrangements of everything from bluegrass and folk tunes to ingenious mash-ups of hits by the Beatles, Kanye West, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake and more.

Since becoming a formal performance ensemble in 2003, Time for Three has appeared alone and with symphonic and chamber orchestras all across the U.S.A. and in Europe. Time for Three entered into a three year term as the first artists-in-residence with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra in 2009 and currently continue that residency, performing with and away from the orchestra and developing programs to widen the orchestra’s appeal in the local community.

The amazing trio Time for Three will be performing Chris Brubeck’s concerto written especially for them, “Travels in Time for Three” with the Mobile Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Scott Speck.
