Matt Greenwood


GreenwoodMatthew Greenwood serves as Adjunct Instructor of Music at the University of South Alabama where he teaches applied lessons, assists with the USA Percussion Ensemble, USA Steel Band and World Music Ensemble, and teaches Introduction to Music for non-majors. Matt is also on staff with the Jaguar Marching Band as Associate Director of the Jaguar Drumline, where he assists with arranging and instructing of the battery and front ensemble.

An active and diverse performer, Matt has given clinics and masterclasses throughout the Gulf Coast including the Alabama Chapter of PAS Day of Percussion and Alabama Music Education Association Conference. He currently performs with the Mobile Symphony Orchestra, Mobile Opera, Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra, Pensacola Symphony Orchestra and Pensacola Opera.

Mr. Greenwood holds a Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance from the Florida State University with Dr. John Parks IV, and a Bachelor of Music degree in Percussion Performance from the University of Louisville with Dr. Greg Byrne. Additional teachers include Brian Kushmaul and James Rago, principal timpanist of the Louisville Orchestra. Matt performs with and is a proud endorser of Pearl/Adams Percussion, Grover Pro Percussion, Innovative Percussion sticks and mallets, and REMO drumheads.
