By providing outstanding symphonic music and award-winning music education programs, MSO assists the region in attracting international companies and creative workers to the area. In just two decades, MSO has become Mobile’s flagship arts organization.

We are currently searching for an experienced Marketing and Development Associate.

Marketing Duties:

  • Collaborate and assist the marketing/public relations manager
  • Assist in developing and implementing campaigns for memberships, concerts, and seasons
  • Oversee digital projects: archive photos and videos – create, edit and upload both for website and social media
  • Maintain marketing/advertising/social media calendar and schedule
  • Manage Mobile Symphony, Mobile Symphony Youth Orchestra and Mobile Symphony Education social media pages
  • Develop new ways to market MSO and MSYO to new audiences via social media
  • Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness (e.g., promotion, giveaways, etc.)
  • Manage and produce video interviews with music director and guest artists for social media
  • Manage Vimeo account
  • Manage live-stream education concerts
  • Develop paid and organic social media campaigns for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
  • Work with marketing manager and staff to maintain website content
  • Develop and deliver social media reports at board meetings
  • Assist with single and membership ticket sales

Assistant to the Development Director – Provide assistance to the Development Director by providing support in the following areas:

  • Assist with planning donor events and parties
  • Assist with compiling grant reports
  • Assist in direct mail campaigns/correspondence
  • Assist with data entry
  • Perform clerical duties as needed
  • Assist with concert duties as assigned
  • Assist with sales and donor analysis
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Communication or related field
  • High level of self-motivation and willingness to work hard
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent phone and customer service skills
  • Understanding and appreciation for the work of the organization
  • Creative and analytical capabilities
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Proficiency in MAC and/or PC operating systems
  • Experience using Microsoft Suite, Adobe Suite, and Indesign.
  • Experience with Google and website analytics
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Available for night and weekend work, as required – (Concert weekends are required.)
  • Ability to occasionally move objects weighing 20-30 pounds
  • Ability to learn quickly and on the job.
