A special message from the Mobile Symphony:

A message from Celia Mann Baehr …
I hope you are safe and well. At a time when we need he healing power of music more than ever, I am excited to announce we’ll be back preforming in the Saenger on October 17 & 18. Our season may not be exactly like the one we announced earlier, but it will be filled with great music to enjoy however you feel safest. We are committed to “Great Music, Safely Enjoyed.”

Keeping our audience and musicians safe guides all our plans. We’re beginning with shorter concerts with socially distanced seating and no intermission. Masks are required.

All concerts will be professionally videoed and will be available online to members and paid ticket-holders who do not feel comfortable attending in person.
We’ll remain nimble and ready to adjust as situations change. Once it’s totally safe, we’ll quickly expand. We will keep the music playing on the Gulf Coast and will continue to provide work for our musicians who are particularly hard hit by the economic downturn.
I look forward to seeing you in October!
Celia Mann Baehr, President and CEO
A message from Scott Speck …
We have all missed you dearly during these last few months, and we have spent countless hours reimagining our season for safety. With a constantly shifting landscape, we prepared ten different scenarios for our October concert, in order to choose the one that best suits the moment.
Luckily we have the benefit of four centuries of magnificent music to choose from. You’ve often heard me say “So much music… so little time.” The fact is, no matter what combination of forces we put on the stage, large or small, we have dozens of great masterpieces to suit the group.
Understandably, the program will differ somewhat from what a normal concert season — but we think we’ve created a concert experience as enjoyable and entertaining as any in the past. But there is no question about it – starting in October, the Mobile Symphony is back in action at the Saenger once again!
I am looking forward to sharing the life-giving force of classical music with you, my dear friends. Till very soon –
Scott Speck, Music Director
