Announcing our 25th Anniversary Season!

It gives me great pleasure to announce the 2022-2023 season of the Mobile Symphony. Your orchestra is back in full force, filling the Saenger with the astonishing sounds of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade and Capriccio Espagnol, Dvorak’s New World Symphony, Copland’s Rodeo, William Grant Still’s Afro-American Symphony, Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet, and even the greatest hits from Wagner’s Ring Cycle!

We’re thrilled to welcome violinist Tessa Lark for the first time, playing the Sky concerto written just for her. Pianist Joyce Yang also makes her Mobile Symphony debut with Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto. We’re shaking things up with a lively and virtuosic mandolin concerto, composed by our friend Jennifer Higdon especially for guest mandolinist Avi Avital. And we welcome back the beloved University of South Alabama Concert Choir for Caroline Shaw’s Music in Common Time, in a concert that ends with Brahms’ powerful Symphony No. 4.
I hope you can join us for this stellar season.
