These award-winning songwriters\, Hillary Lindsey\, Cary Barlowe and Brett James\, offer acoustic performances of songs they wrote for Nashville’s most notable stars – re-imagined for symphony. The Songs\, Their Stories\, A Symphony is part story telling\, part comedy – and mostly\, unforgettable acoustic symphonic performances of hit songs. \nSponsored By:\nThe Shirk Family Foundation\nRobert Ervin \n \nHillary Lindsey\nOne of Nashville’s most respected songwriters\, Hillary Lindsey broke into country music business while still a student at Belmont University’s Music Business School. Her many awards include Grammy Awards for the songs “Jesus\, Take the Wheel” recorded by Carrie Underwood and “Girl Crush” recorded by Little Big Town. SESAC’s 2015 Country Songwriter of the Year\, Barlowe is a co-writer of the new Chris Young single “Famous Friends\,” which went to No. 1 this summer on the country charts. SUMMARY:A Celtic Christmas
DESCRIPTION:“When Cherish the Ladies first appeared with our orchestra\, the experience was not only exquisite but also unexpected. We knew these women could make great music — but we didn’t realize they could be so hilarious. Joanie Madden should patent her wacky sense of humor. She’s a national treasure. I’m sure Ireland and America are fighting over her. I can’t wait to see what she and the group bring to their Christmas concert with us!” – Scott Speck\, Music Director \nThe Mobile Symphony is joined by the popular Irish group Cherish the Ladies for a Celtic Christmas celebration! Mobile audiences loved them when they celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with the orchestra several years ago. These high-energy women are back with a new Christmas show packed with great music\, Irish dancers\, holiday fun and a few surprises. “It is simply impossible to imagine an audience that wouldn’t enjoy what they do\,” says The Boston Globe of this Grammy Award-nominated Irish-American supergroup. Cherish The Ladies has thrilled audiences worldwide with timeless Irish traditions and good cheer. \nSingle tickets on sale August 21\, 2019. Tickets are $15\, $20\, $33\, $45\, $65 and $80 and can be purchased online\, by phone at 251-432-2010\, or at the symphony box office\, 257 Dauphin Street.
