The Songs, Their Stories, A Symphony: Orchestras across the nation are going country for this show! This special event features award-winning songwriters performing songs they penned for Nashville’s most notable stars – all backed with our orchestra. It’s part storytelling, part comedy – and mostly unforgettable symphonic performances of hit songs. You’ll hear stand-outs such as Carrie Underwood’s “Jesus Take the Wheel.”

Our blockbuster season opener planned for September 2020, moves to June 2021. An all-time MSO favorite – Scheherazade – features MSO concertmaster, Jenny Grégoire. Pianist Charlie Albright returns to perform Edvard Grieg’s popular concerto. We begin with a piece by Pulitzer-Prize-winner and former MSO composer-in-residence, Kevin Puts.
